About Carly

Carly came to physiotherapy through sport. After a degree in sports and exercise science she qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010, and began her career moving through a wide range of NHS settings — elderly care, elective and acute orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, respiratory and intensive care.

Her work for Salveo Forma is with older adults. That means falls and the confidence lost after one, rebuilding strength and walking after a hip or knee replacement, and the joint pain and stiffness that quietly narrows what someone can manage in a day. Her orthopaedic and elderly care background is exactly the right grounding for it, and her sports science training shows in how she builds a programme — graded, measurable, and something you can actually keep to.

Alongside that, Carly has spent the last ten years specialising in paediatrics, working with children who have musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and rheumatological conditions, and with children living with neurological and genetic conditions. Children’s physiotherapy at home is very hard to find privately, and Carly is the reason we can offer it.

Treating someone at home changes the work either way. An older adult practises on their own stairs rather than a hospital step, and a child who is anxious in a clinic is a different child on their own living room floor. In both cases the exercises belong to the routine rather than the appointment, which is usually why they get done.

Carly has worked in NHS hospitals in Poole, Yeovil and Southampton, and in private and sports settings alongside semi-professional football teams and gymnasts. She has also completed her Pilates training, which she uses both one-to-one as a form of rehabilitation and in group classes.

Common questions

Does Carly work with older adults?

Yes — that is the majority of her work for Salveo Forma. Carly treats falls and balance problems, mobility after a hip or knee replacement, and arthritic and joint pain in older adults, in their own homes across Dorset. Her NHS background covers elderly care and both elective and acute orthopaedics. Call 07384 590177 to arrange a visit.

Can Carly help after a fall or an operation?

Yes. This is the work she does most. After a fall the fear of the next one often takes more away than the fall itself, and after a joint replacement the surgery is the short part — the rebuilding happens at home over weeks. Carly assesses on your own stairs and your own chair, and builds a programme you can genuinely keep to.

Does Carly also treat children?

Yes. Alongside her work with older adults, Carly has specialised in paediatric physiotherapy for ten years, treating children with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, rheumatological, neurological and genetic conditions in their own homes. Children’s physiotherapy at home is very difficult to find privately, and Carly is the reason we can offer it. No GP referral is needed — call 07384 590177.
