Getting the right physiotherapy for your child shouldn't mean long waits, difficult journeys or unfamiliar settings. Our paediatric physiotherapists come to your child — visiting at home, at school, or in a hydrotherapy pool, wherever they feel most comfortable and are best placed to engage and thrive.
Our team uniquely continues to work within paediatric services at University Hospitals Dorset alongside their private practice — meaning your child is treated by physiotherapists actively working at the forefront of paediatric care.
This means your child benefits from physiotherapists with current NHS clinical experience, in-depth knowledge of local services and provisions, and established connections with the specialists and support networks your family may need.
We work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals involved in your child's care, and can help navigate the wider system to make sure nothing falls through the gaps.
Children aren't small adults — and paediatric physiotherapy requires a very different approach. The right therapist needs to understand child development, know how to engage children of all ages and abilities, and have the skills to make sessions feel less like treatment and more like play.
Our paediatric physiotherapists work with children from birth to 18, bringing specialist experience across a wide range of conditions and settings. They provide early intervention, assess and support developmental milestones, and work closely with parents, teachers and school staff to ensure the benefits of therapy carry into everyday life.
Every session is designed to be engaging, interactive and age-appropriate — because children progress best when they're enjoying themselves.
We work alongside existing NHS provision, complementing therapy already in place and ensuring continuity of care. Where your child has a wider team of professionals involved in their care, we collaborate with them — and we can provide comprehensive assessment and treatment reports, and work with case managers where required.
