Louise Qualified from Bournemouth University in 2013 and proceeded to commence working life in an acute hospital. After working across a range of setting including A&E and admission avoidance wards, Intensive Care units, Trauma and Orthopaedic, Respiratory, Musculoskeletal, Stroke and Older Persons and Medical wards.
Louise’s passion for rehabilitation moved her to Southampton where she worked across both inpatient and community neurological rehabilitation settings. This led her into private rehabilitation services, and now working within private community-based rehabilitation. Louise’s desire for individuals to maximise their life opportunities and gain progress towards meaningful goals is best completed within the home environment.
Louise has completed training in Pilates based rehabilitation, including with a particular focus on adapting to neurologically impaired client groups. Additional courses include spasticity management and casting, as well as vestibular rehabilitation. Louise is able to to support clients to reduce risk of falls, managing their spasticity, advise on splinting, review and devise positioning plans to support comfort as well as complete exercise programs to progress towards collaborative goals.
Outside of work Louise enjoys spending time with family and her animals, which in turn led her to working towards her Veterinary Physiotherapy MSc.
Louise is a specialist neurological physiotherapist providing home visits in Southampton, Romsey and Salisbury for individuals with neurological conditions.
