About Jess
Jess qualified in 2008 from Oxford Brookes University and returned to Dorset to work at Bournemouth Hospital, moving through a wide range of specialties before settling into acute neurology.
She then moved into community services, where she built deep experience in older people's rehabilitation, falls recovery and vestibular rehabilitation, alongside community neurological rehab. That combination matters: neurology and falls are treated as separate specialties by most services, and Jess does both.
She currently works within an NHS team supporting people with long-term neurological conditions, including multiple sclerosis, stroke, progressive supranuclear palsy and spinal cord injury. Much of that work is about managing a condition well over years rather than fixing something in six weeks.
Her additional training includes Movement Science for stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury management in the community, vestibular rehabilitation, and APPI Pilates Matwork Level 1. She has also worked alongside specialist teams on spasticity management and contracture prevention.
What drives her is confidence. Jess is particularly focused on rebuilding a person's belief in their own recovery, because someone who trusts their body again keeps going after the physiotherapist leaves. Outside work she has a busy family life and is a keen cyclist and runner.

Does Jess work with falls and balance problems as well as neurology?
Yes, and that combination is unusual. Jess has extensive community experience in falls recovery and vestibular rehabilitation alongside her neurological specialism, so she can treat dizziness, balance loss and fear of falling in the same visit as a neurological condition.
What is vestibular rehabilitation?
Vestibular rehabilitation treats dizziness, vertigo and balance problems caused by the inner ear or the brain's balance pathways. It uses targeted exercises to retrain the balance system and lower the risk of falling. Jess assesses and treats these conditions in your own home.
